What We Install

Every layer of a properly installed network.

A consumer router plugged into your modem is a starting point, not a network. Here's what a real installation looks like.

Wireless Coverage
Access Point Installation
Ceiling or wall-mounted access points placed based on a site survey of your floor plan โ€” not guesswork. Each AP handles dozens of simultaneous devices with MU-MIMO and OFDMA for WiFi 6E performance. Proper placement eliminates dead zones and reduces co-channel interference between APs.
  • Ubiquiti UniFi U6 Pro โ€” high-density
  • Ubiquiti UniFi U6 Lite โ€” residential
  • Eero Pro 6E โ€” mesh with 6GHz backhaul
  • Netgear Orbi RBK863S โ€” tri-band mesh
  • Google Nest WiFi Pro โ€” simple whole-home

Wired Infrastructure
Structured Cat6 Wiring
Every access point, wired workstation, and smart TV gets its own dedicated Cat6 run to the network closet or rack. Clean, labeled, and terminated properly. No daisy-chaining, no powerline adapters.
  • Cat6 runs to every AP and workstation
  • Keystone jacks and wall plates โ€” clean finish
  • Patch panel for organized termination
  • Cable labeled at both ends
  • TV and entertainment center wired drops

Business Network Setup
UniFi Dream Machine Pro routers with VLAN segmentation โ€” separate guest WiFi, staff network, and IoT devices each in their own isolated subnet. Ubiquiti PoE switches with full port management and network visibility.
  • UniFi Dream Machine Pro
  • VLAN segmentation for guest/staff/IoT
  • UniFi PoE switches โ€” 8 to 48 port
  • Full network visibility dashboard

Troubleshooting
Network Diagnostics
We run a full network diagnostic: speed tests at the modem vs. downstream, channel analysis for 2.4GHz interference, firmware audits, and physical cable checks. Most performance issues come from channel overlap, outdated firmware, or a misplaced router.
  • Speed test at modem & downstream
  • WiFi channel interference analysis
  • Firmware audit & update
  • Physical cable inspection

The Process

From call to done right.

No subcontractors, no guesswork. Here's exactly what happens when you book with us.

01
Site Survey
We walk your home or business and map dead zones, interference sources, and wiring paths. For larger installs, we use a WiFi analyzer to see exactly where signal drops off.
02
System Design
We spec the number and placement of access points, plan Cat6 runs, and size the switching and routing hardware for your device count and use case.
03
Installation
Cat6 runs pulled, APs mounted and powered via PoE, router and switch racked, all connections terminated and tested. Typically one day for a home, one to two days for a business.
04
Configure & Test
Networks configured, VLANs set up, every AP adopted into the controller, speed tests run at each location. We hand you login credentials and a network map.
Common Questions

You've got questions.
We've got answers.

Consumer mesh systems (Eero, Orbi, Google Nest) are designed to be plug-and-play with wireless backhaul between nodes. Professional access points (UniFi U6 Pro) are wired back to a central switch via Cat6, which gives dramatically better performance since there's no wireless hop degradation. For most homes, a wired mesh or UniFi setup is the right call.

For the best performance, yes. Each access point should have its own wired Cat6 run. We're experienced at running cable with minimal wall damage โ€” most runs go through attic, basement, or inside walls via existing cavities. We'll be clear about what's possible in your home before any work starts.

A VLAN (Virtual LAN) lets you segment your network into isolated groups. For example: your smart cameras and locks on one VLAN, your personal computers on another, and guest WiFi on a third โ€” with firewall rules preventing them from communicating with each other. It's standard practice for business networks and smart homes with lots of IoT devices.

Typically 2โ€“3 access points for a 3,000 sq ft home, depending on construction. Concrete walls, metal studs, and brick reduce signal range and may require an additional AP. A proper site survey gives you a definitive answer rather than a guess.

Sometimes โ€” if the router is modern and properly placed, the issue may be channel selection, firmware, or QoS settings we can optimize. If the hardware is old or fundamentally underpowered for your device count, replacement is the right answer. We'll be honest with you about which applies.
